We are showing respect, excellence, cooperation, integrity, perseverance and emotional intelligence. Nothing replaces the moment when you walk into class and an enthusiastic 5 year old comes beaming up to you saying look at what I have made..... I wrote Tom. (that's his friends name)
We traced around our heads. Then cut up photos of ourselves and created a collage within our silhouette.
Today we demonstrated a tuakana-teina approach where we had some older students helping our younger students learn and practice the skills of the days of the week. Room one loved having the extra help so thanks heaps Cameron, Jordyn, Jade, Lauren, Monica you all were fantastic teachers. Our lovely class singing Mac our welcome song.... Megan and Abigail are ready to hand over the Welcome Heart with some warm welcome words to Mac.
After our writing lesson today I was busy listening to the individual children telling me their sentences before they headed off to start their writing. After a while I looked up to see how the children were settling and saw the children starting their writing with words cards and using them in the correct manner. I felt very proud of the children already thinking for themselves and managing their own learning tools.
I observed every value(respect, emotional intelligence, cooperation, integrity, perseverance, excellence) being used within our writing lesson today.... proud teacher moment. (If you hold the mouse over each picture you will read what is happening in the picture!) Wow! What an awesome We are all teachers session we had today. The children were super stars... showing integrity, perseverance, confidence, and most importantly empathy to their four year old buddies. I was so proud of how confident they are rocking these session. Keep up the fantastic work. |
