This is what a successful outcome looks like.
For technology this term we are looking at lunch boxes. Using a variety of recycled boxes the children made their own lunch box. The criteria the children came up with was that their lunch box had to have a lid and could fit all their lunch in it. This is what a successful outcome looks like.

As I walk around I see children engaged in their own learning. I see independent children on task. I see children asking children for help. I see children using word cards. I see children working where they learn best. What a proud teacher I feel as I look around at my lovely learners. I couldn't ask for anything more from these determined learners.
Matariki is about new beginnings and celebrations. Matariki is also the name for the Maori New Year. We can celebrate Matariki in many ways. We decided we would make Star Biscuits and Kites to celebrate Matariki Day in our classroom. We were very lucky when Simi and Nova collected a heap of rocks for us to use for our enviro art. They had to look carefully for the right kind of rocks for us to paint. They decided that smooth and flat would be the best kind for us.
We also made a fabulous fr slide show together.
We are loving these word sort activities that are helping reinforce the initial sounds we are learning through Jolly Phonics. We have to match the pictures to the letter sound. We are getting very clever knowing our alphabet names and sounds.
We LOVED having Bear come for a visit today and hearing all about him from Tom. Thanks Becs, Sophie and Tom for bringing Bear into school. WE then wrote stories about Bear.
We LOVE our reading sessions with these delightful children from Fun Place to Be! Keep up the great reading Kiddies!
Can you guess our numbers???
We are learning to count on using our fingers. We are getting so good at counting on. |
